If you're working on your homepage and want to edit a certain line of text that is way at the top of a long page, instead of using your arrow keys and scrolling to the top of the page one line at a time, you can use your find key.
To do this, highlight the text field by moving the yellow box (the box that turns yellow when it is on a link...) around the field. Then, hit the return key on your keyboard to activate the cursor.
Now, press your find key and enter a word that will be in the line of text your trying to get to, for example, enter the word HTML or BODY to get to the very top of the page, since these words should be the first words in your file. This will take you directly to that spot in the file and you can start editing from there.
Always "reload" any webpage that you know might
be changing frequently, (like my pages!) otherwise,
there may be changes that you don't see because your
browser is viewing an old page. Make sure to do this,
especially, if you have been to that page just
recently or you have not gone offline since the last
time
you were there.
To reload a page quickly, hold down the command
key (cmd) then press the letter "R" key at the same
time.
Hold down the "alt" key and press some of the other
keys to find different symbols and letters. For
example....''''
Also, hold down the "alt" and "shift" key at the
same time and press any key again, to find even more
symbols. For example..
Just play around with those and see what you find
To scroll all the way to the top or bottom of a
page quickly, hold down the "cmd" key while pressing
the "scroll up" or "scroll down" key.
You can also hold down the "cmd" key and press
the arrow key to move the cursor to then end of the
line quickly.
One more....Hold down the "cmd" key and press the
"delete" key to delete an entire line of text.
To find out the URL(address) of the page you are
on, press the "go to" key and then when the box pops
up, click on "show last". The URL of the page you're
on will show in the window.
If you are in a chat room and you get "bumped"
out for whatever reason, just "reload" to get back
in. You don't have to go all the way "home" and start
over.( see tip #2)
If you save messages in your email storage, and they
are large messages with alot of graphics or other
information that needs to be downloaded to see or
hear, your mailbox will not hold as many messages as
it should. These messages can take up as much room as
50-100 messages!!!! Don't save it unless you have to!
Or you can create another user to store it.
If you discard a piece of e-mail accidently or
you just discover that you need it again you can
retrieve it by going into your mailbox and clicking
on "storage" then click on "discarded". This will
bring up a list of all the mail you discarded in the
past week. Then you just click on the message you
want to retrieve and "save" it again. Discarded
e-mails are saved for 1 week before they are
permanently discarded.
You can make another user for yourself and use that
mailbox for storage of large messages or just any
messages you want to save but are taking up space.
Just go to "setup" and click on "you and other
users". Pick a nickname for yourself and you're all
set.
You can also use this same method to get more storage
for your "favorites"
WebTV, cannot scan pictures, but you can have them
scanned for you by either a friend with a computer or
at a local print shop, like "KINKOs". Then you can
have it emailed to your
address, save it in storage, then you can forward a
copy to anyone you choose!
If you have a printer connected to your WebTV, here
is a page that you can use to type letters,
resumes etc...and print them up on your printer!

Instead of using your back button to go back to
where you were if you need to go back more than just
a page, press the "recent" key on your keyboard.
A screen will pop up showing the last 12 pages you
have been to and then you can just click on the page
you want to go back to.
If you are visiting a page, and there is a link
to another page that you think you might like, but
don't want to leave the page you are on yet, click on
the link for the new page and then send it to
yourself.
You can then just hit the back button on your
keyboard to go back to the original site you were at
and then you can view the new site when you have a
chance. It will be in your mailbox so you won't
forget about it.
Some people have suggested using the VCR to save
pages. If you have your WebTV hooked up to your VCR
and have it hooked up properly, you can record while
you surf and then you'll have a copy of whatever it
is for reference or, just to give to someone else.

copy it from there, and paste it on this
page.
